Together with the main strategic partners Pivara Skopje<\/a> and Pakomak<\/a>,\u00a0Man and Mountain organized\u00a0for\u00a0the\u00a0fourth time in a row GENERAL WEEKEND<\/a> this year –\u00a0the biggest\u00a0environmental\u00a0action in\u00a0Macedonia as well as in the whole western Balkans, during which a\u00a0record breaking number of more than\u00a0300\u00a0tons of waste were collected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like in the last years, Sparkasse Bank<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Nula Otpad<\/a>\u00a0supported as official\u00a0partners and\u00a0were joined this year by\u00a0Makstil<\/a>, Buchim Borov <\/a>Dol, EVN<\/a>, Bimilk<\/a> and Kostal<\/a>. And again Red Cross<\/a> took care of the safety of all participants of GENERALKA WEEKEND 24<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Thanks to the great collaboration between our partners, the supporters in all municipalities and our institutions, hundreds of schools, Kindergartens, but also NGOs, Sportsclubs, Pensionists, National Parks, special forces, and many many more contributed in GENERALKA WEEKEND<\/a> in an unparalleled act of national wide solidarity and friendship beyond all ethnic and political borders!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

18.099 volunteers collected\u00a0301,504\u00a0kg\u00a0waste\u00a0during GENERALKA WEEKEND<\/a> on more than 400 locations between the 15.-19. May 2024!” say Gordana Sofija and Hannes\u00a0Jaeckl\u00a0from\u00a0Man and Mountain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on the memorandum between the Ministry of Agriculture,\u00a0National\u00a0Forestry\u00a0and\u00a0Man\u00a0and\u00a0Mountain , the Government\u00a0of the Republic of North Macedonia\u00a0will dedicate\u00a01 tree for every 10 kilograms of\u00a0waste collected during the GENERALKA WEEKEND<\/a><\/strong> within\u00a0the framework of\u00a0their annual plans for\u00a0afforestation all\u00a0until 2031\u00a0.\u00a0To date, more than 100,000 trees\u00a0have been planted thanks\u00a0to the efforts of the people of Macedonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
